La Orotava is said to be the most beautiful town in Tenerife. And honestly, we got there by accident. And o boy, thanks, we did! Returning from our daytrip to the north of the island, I researched the town. And then I happened to find out, that it is described as the most beautiful town in Tenerife. We planned to visist another botanical garden, but left to late and somehow landed in La Orotava.
The stunning scenery of the most beautiful town in Tenerife
And the small town is indeed more than worth a visist. Not only is La Orotava placed in the most beautiful location, it has an old charming historic center and two public botanical gardens. Walking up the hills, you will find two gardens (the entry was free, at the time) from where you have an stunning view over the town down to the torquoise sea.
If you are a nature and/or photography lover, I would definetly recommend you to take a walk through the parks. Afterwards you can wander around the town, look at the old church and buildings, grap a bite in one of the cute little cafés or go down to the sea.
A place to unwind
La Orotava is spot to relax and take a deep breath. However I cannot garantee if it won’t be a crowed place during the season. When we were there (May) it was not filled with tourists at all.
